Councillor angered by Maryborough tree vandalism

Fraser Coast councillor Paul Truscott has taken to social media to voice his anger after trees and public property were damaged and destroyed in Maryborough at the weekend.

Cr Truscott said the trees and their protective cages were damaged by “fools” in what he said was “shocking behavior.”

Cr Truscott, who represents Division 3 on the Fraser Coast Regional Council, said officials were working hard to improve the community streetscapes.

“Then you have fools come along and do stuff like this,” his post continued.

“This is not acceptable. If you see people destroying public property or know who did this over the weekend, please report it,” Cr Truscott pleaded.
