Aussie polystyrene hack all councils should be adopting

The Fraser Coast Regional Council has implemented a really cool polystyrene recycling program at its waste management facilities.

I recently chatted to Division 9 Councillor David Lee for an article that was published in issue 11 of The Fraser Coast Beacon (September, 2020).

Cr Lee walked me through the process of recycling unwanted polystyrene and how residents could get involved.

In short, the polystyrene is melted and made into bricks that can then be used to manufacturer multiple secondary products.

Most importantly, the polystyrene does not go to landfill.
